A Queen Needs No Crown

Commander / EDH

Museless

Who says a Queen needs her crown? In fact, she's more than happy to give it away and let the rabble fight over her title all they wish. After all, a crown is but a symbol. True power comes from the ruler herself.

The deck itself plays as reactionary pillowfort control, with the aim of getting Marchesa out early and offering someone the crown without a fight. From there, simply let the others fight for the monarchy, and allow yourself the pleasure of enjoying some of the best parts of EDH.

It's always fun when players get to do what their decks want to do; green decks enjoy ramping, blue decks like keeping a full grip, token players like spawning their armies, and people love getting to use big beefy creatures they don't get to use in other formats. This deck lets everyone do just that... so long as the Queen abides.

Should the ramp player become overabundant in lands? We've got Acidic Soil for that.

Blue player cracked their Enter the Infinite and has their deck in hand? Sounds like a job for Blood Oath or Sudden Impact .

Token swarm getting out of control? Just call Batwing Brume or Rakdos Charm .

Table have a Craterhoof Behemoth problem? One Backlash , and that Hoof's not a problem anymore.

Every time this deck plays out, it will do so differently, depending on the table composition and whether or not they're wise to your tricks. But it's always competitive, and often, there's just not much they can do to stop you when you show your revealed silver bullet.

The rest of the deck plays a "Protect and Dictate" game, where you keep your own board and life total fairly protected, and there are even some combat tricks you can throw around to help dictate where your crown ends up. It's very manipulative, persuasive, and all about the right timing, just like our Queen Marchesa herself.

Long live the Queen!

This deck takes heavy influence from Rachmiel's Tariel primer, which can be found here: http://www.mtgsalvation.com/forums/the-game/commander-edh/multiplayer-commander-decklists/490546-tariel-youll-thank-me-for-this
