My take on the trending Grixis Delver deck. The deck is fun to pilot and makes for some great games.

The Deck

The deck runs a very simple plan of killing your opponent using awesome creatures. The deck tempos out the opponent while applying pressure with our creatures and killing many creatures that get through our counters

Creatures

  • Tasigur, the Golden Fang, a mana 4/5 that can net me card advantage seems great!. Able to block big fatties, and can come out as early as turn 2.
  • Delver of Secrets  , a 3/2 on turn 3 is always awesome. Can deal lots of damage in the early game and if he sticks can finish off the game single-handily.
  • Young Pyromancer , the token machine. With all of the cheap cantrips and spells he produce tons of tokens and can end games very quickly
  • and the Siege Rhino AND Tarmogoyf-blocking fatty that is Gurmag Angler, need I say more? He can also cost so that is a plus
  • Instants & Sorceries

    Our instants either:

  • Kill something
  • Draw us cards
  • Burn something
  • Or counter something.
  • Many of the cards do two of the previously stated actions. If there is a question about a card inclusion or a suggestion for a card you believe should be in here feel free to comment!

    While our Sorceries

  • Just draw us cards...nothing else really. Gitaxian Probe let's us peak at our opponents hand, while Serum Visions gets rid of bad draws with scry!
  • The Sideboard

Our sideboard is based on my meta which is pretty diverse, however the main contenders are twin, burn and BGx so when crafting a sideboard feel free to use mine as a basis and change according to your own meta
  • Bitterblossom is there for any grindy games or decks with a lot of removal. Bitterblossom allows me to always have a board presence and apply pressure to my opponent or chump block if need be.
  • Blood Moon, in my opinion, one of the best sideboard cards there is. Completely hoses decks with greedy manabases (BGx, Tron) even to the point where some concede
  • Dragon's Claw, my meta has a wide array of burn players and I strongly believe, and it is the popular opinion, that burn is Grixis Delver's worst match-up so 3 dragon's claw allow us to gain life while our opponents cast spells. Making a Lightning Bolt and Shock is always nice
  • explosive engineering stops any creature-based decks that try to flood the board helpful in the hatebears match-up along with zoo, burn, merfolk and even the mirror
  • Izzet Staticaster, it is fantastic when a twin player tries to go infinite with Pestermite and their plan is ruined by Izzet Staticaster
  • Kolaghan's Command is just so good and versatile...it does so much. Just read the card and you can see the value
  • Negate just counters any spells that could potentially harm us, it stops a wide array of things...well except Siege Rhino
  • Rending Volley see Izzet Staticaster except add they can't counter Rending Volley
  • Shatterstorm helps us against the affinity and tron matchup. I am considering pumping this to a 2 of because there is a heavy prevalence of tron in my meta. This can also be replaced by Vandalblast but having 5 mana is tough so instead of conditionally destroying all artifacts for 5 mana I run this which guarantees me to destroy all the artifacts (and they can't be regenerated)
  • Spellskite kind of my catch-all. He eats removal can block aggressive decks, eats burn. Just an all around good card!

  • And that is the deck, feel free to post any questions, comments or concerns. And if you liked the deck crush that upvote button!! Long Live Delver!
