A Sliver for Every Occasion

Legacy

Subject22

Comments/suggestions greatly appreciated.

The idea behind this was to play with a core of reliable staples (crystalline, gemhide, muscle/sinew) around which I could build a highly adaptable army using draw (vision, star) and search (tutor et al) cards. It was also intended to be fun to play with while still being potent. A neat side effect of this is that it's never the same deck twice. Each game sees a different conglomeration of abilities.

-Step 1: Drop a gemhide and a crystalline early for mana acceleration and near-invulnerability respectively.
-Step 2: Adapt to opponent's actions by pulling slivers out of deck as needed, while playing muscles/sinews as they appear for added beefiness.
-Step 3: Play a sliver legend or swarm opponent with 'little' slivers.
-Step 4: Profit!

General notes:
-70 cards is an odd number, but I feel that the deck requires that to give it a deep enough pool of slivers to adapt to any situation. I considered going to 100 for compatibility with EDH but decided against it in the end (gemhides are very important in this deck, and in anything other than EDH 100 cards is prohibitive of getting one).
-It hurt to leave out Magma Sliver and Crypt Sliver , but the crystalline is far more valuable, in the end. Clot sliver didn't make the cut because I'd rather play new slivers than save ones already in play, as they can be reanimated.
-Please excuse the Root Sliver , it's there because I can never be bothered playing with a sideboard.
-The strange looking pile of non-basic lands reflects what I happen to have in my collection.
-The reanimation cards allow for recovery from anything from a small zap (Unearth) to complete extinction (Patriarch's Bidding).
-I chose Cruel Tutor over the alternatives because I'm aiming for Legacy.
-Green Sun's Zenith, Congregation at Dawn and Eladamri's Call all serve the same basic function: To allow me to grab whatever sliver I need in a given situation without having to use my Tutors if i don't need to. I was tempted to drop the first two and run 4 calls, but Congregation seems kind of handy when I'm not under pressure and need more than one sliver for the win. Zenith is more limited than Call, but still has a place because of the utility of gemhides and legends, and because of its recycle ability.
