Sideboard

The idea is to burn as much as possible and clear the battlefield of any threats so you can just keep burning or bashing with creatures.

Satyr Firedancer acts as removal for creatures with toughness three or less and lets me focus on burning the face without having to direct burn to the creature.

The scry 2 ability from Magma Jet ensures you can at least be closer to another Satyr Firedancer. You can also use Izzet Charm to get closer to the cards you need. Also Divination as a last resort.

Cyclonic Rift & Negate can cancel or remove cards that can't be taken out with Lightning Strike. Only needing 2 mana open and only 1 U necessary allows for more burn to be played on later turns. Cyclonic Rift also lets me overload if the game drags out for whatever reason. Same with Mizzium Mortars.

Stormbreath Dragon for board presence and to end games faster. It also makes deck strategies much more clear.

Spellheart Chimera for additional aggro. Despite having three toughness his trample damage will still be relevant when facing defenders along with burn. Izzet Charm + Negate keeps him in the game for when burn or removal spells are played. Izzet Charm can also be used to discard two instants/sorceries to make him stronger.

The sideboard consists of the Flamespeaker Adept + Sigiled Starfish combo. Flamespeaker Adept s buffs from a dedicated scryer on top of cards like Spark Jolt , Magma Jet, and Temple of Epiphany makes Flamespeaker Adept a fierce creature to deal with against non-creature focused decks. Also Prognostic Sphinx and Keranos, God of Storms for additional burn and scry along with making Keranos a creature.

Playtested the new deck at the JOU prerelease with some of the JOU cards and found a couple of key issues.

For one, Sigiled Starfish on mainboard changes the entire deck strategy completely, i skipped over a lot of my creatures for just instants and sorceries since I had nothing else to play off of being able to scry. For now the starfish will be in sideboard along with Flamespeaker Adept in case I ran into a deck not focused on creatures.

I went 2-2 using the previous prototype which was not bad since I went against a Game Day Champion and another pro. The Champion had only one creature in his deck and did everything in his power to scry and dig it out. He won but it was an ultimately slow game. The other pro ran a $400+ deck and I didn't have enough burn to counteract his Brimaz, King of Oreskos + Voice of Resurgence combo.

Overall, great eye-opening night. Just got to get the rest of the JOU cards and one last Cyclonic Rift and I should be good to go.
