A Lands Commander Deck; attrition, tempo, politics, Land-related shenanigans, big babies going BOOM, and Gates, lots of Gates.

Edit; 08/08/22 changes:

Current Changes/Considerations:

  • Anguished Unmaking => Otawara, Soaring City (Is probably better; recurrable and tutorable, compared to Rite of Oblivion)
  • Scattered Groves => Tranquil Thicket
  • Rhystic Study vs Mystic Remora? (The way Remora usually plays out is that people will slow-roll to prevent you from gaining cards until you can't pay for it, then start casting stuff; And with Child of Alara in the Command Zone, people already don't want to overextend.. so together they may cause opponents to be too skittish and result in no cards drawn.. but at least Hall of Heliod's Generosity can easily replay it if Cumulative Upkeep becomes too much. In regards to Rhystic, the downside is it's eventually gonna be blown away by Alara, so it's sticking power vs Remora isn't a pro anymore and given it's higher CMC it's likely online for less of a window than Remora before Alara would stabilize.) For now it's a moot consideration, because I have no spare Rhystics and 2 spare ALTERED Remoras that I need homes for.. lol. Though I COULD always just cut it for a:
  • Takenuma, Abandoned Mire? (I already have Genesis, Eternal Witness and Volrath's Stronghold, do I really need more Creature recursion? Though this does also recur Planeswalkers.. It's cute and clunky in comparison to the others though.)
  • Do I have TOO much Card Advantage?
  • The JP Mystical Archive Demonic Tutor IS really pretty, but do I really need such a powerful Tutor effect? Granted 9 times out of 10 you're tutoring for a Life from the Loam.

Changes:

  • Cut The Tabernacle at Pendrell Vale (my sweet sweet Tabby... we had some good times. But alas, I needed money due to depression kicking my ass. Besides, I rarely tutored for it, as whenever I had it in play I'd become a huge target, feel like an arsehole, and get stressed using such an expensive card. It's not even needed when the Commander already takes care of people going wide.)
  • Cut Fetches and some Duals (to be fair, there wasn't much in the deck to begin with, mostly a holdover from Legacy where the value of replaying Fetches off Crucible was useful. Or to fetch the 1 Basic against Enchantment-based Land Hate, but Land Tutors can do that too.)
  • Diamond Valley => Miren, the Moaning Well (for money reasons. may reacquire it at some point. Though Miren is a decent replacement as it taps for Mana by itself, and the only downside is that the "Plan B: I can't believe you made me do this because you exiled too many of my Gates taking Plan A off the table, and now you have to live through this excruciating experience; I hope you're happy with yourself" Combo would require 8 mana per turn rather than 5 mana..)
  • Did somebody say NEW GATES?! :O Spicy. I'm adding most of the new Gates, and I think I can get away with cutting on some Ravnican Gates (probably Splash/off-color ones) since 12+ Gates should usually be enough.
