When I fist got into EDH I told a friend I liked the idea of the Junk color combination (no such thing as Abzan back then) and he handed me Ghave, Guru of Spores and told me to have fun. A General in the colors I wanted, some sweet abilities, which would work in a tokens and counters strategy, and access to 3 color wedge which provides you with pretty much an answer to anything your opponents may have.

I had only been playing magic for about a year when I got into EDH and had no idea at the time, that Ghave is not the Guru of Spores, he is the Guru of busted and broken combo's, and that EDH is a format where you kind of get to do busted and broken things.

When we have tokens and +1/+1 counters floating around what better than Doubling Season in a deck. It draws a lot of hate around the table, which I'm ok with, it's a removal magnet, which lets some of my other enablers stick around to end the game.

The deck is filled out with ramp / tutors / removal and some recursion, to up the consistency of the deck.
