Sorrow's Path
, while notably terrible, is also completely delightful. I mean, sure, it kills you and your creatures, but what does that matter, if your creatures want to be killed anyway?
After several iterations of the deck, I decided to completely remove the titular card since, even when it was a two or one-of, topdecking it was really the worst feeling in the world. I've tried replacing it with a few things, notably Boros Charm and Reforge the Soul, but for now I'll list
Desert
, because, well, what with deterrence being such a big thing here, it just feels good. I am currently exploring potential uses for my six playsets of
Sorrow's Path
, including bookmarks, plectrums, and a potential deck involving
Wood Elemental
and unhappiness.
Now that RTR Block has rotated, I'm glad to welcome Boros Reckoner into the deck, supplanting Spitemare. In less casual settings, however, I would recommend bringing him back in along with some low-cost removal (Path to Exile or Swords to Plowshares are ideal) and taking out Stuffy Doll and Guilty Conscious. These changes make the deck faster and more consistent.
Notable synergies and combos:
The sideboard needs a bit of work, to be certain.
If you have any suggestions, please tell me! This deck is my baby, so I'm tweaking it frequently.
Oh, and watch out for
Backdraft
