This deck started out as a Tarland focused deck but as I keep finding cards I think would be fun to play with and combos that I enjoy more I've kinda delved away from focusing heavily on him. He's still in the deck for sure but he is more a flavour to the deck instead of being the main focus. And I think this has made it a much better deck than before.

The delver is a good early game defender while I try to get Tarland on the field and summon my stalkers for the pikes. It also hits pretty hard for a potential turn 2, 3/2 flier.

Getting Tarland and any other card I need is mainly accomplished by Indexing my deck, ordering the cards as I need them. Depending on my hand I'm going to either Think Twice myself immediately to draw the top card or order them so I discard two I don't need and draw the one I want with Thought Scour. I'm also using the Index to order my top cards to transform any delvers I have out on my next upkeep.

Runechanter's Pike+Delver or Invisible Stalker is am especially nasty combo and a good alternate strategy if Talrand isn't working up/drawing.

Clone has always been one of my favorite cards so it has home in this deck. Copying my opponents creatures has always made matches more fun.

Mana Leak/ Unsummon/ Redirect are there for basic spell and creature control.

This is my first time playing blue so I'm learning as I go on how to play the colour properly. Lots of fun so far!

Updates Add

I took out the 2x Increasing Confusion in favour of an additional Redirect, Unsummon, and Mana Leak

Redirect is quickly becoming one of my favorite blue cards of late. Especially with the prevalence of Tragic Slip, Dismember, Oblivion Ring, Pacifism, and Murder in Standard at my local shop, Redirect has become a blessing in disguise.
