A fun to play semi-budget artifact deck built around playing to many artifacts for your opponent to control, using multiple win cons to stop your opponents.

Main Deck Idea Show

The goal behind building this deck was to create an aggro artifact strategy without breaking the bank. The current build is about $180, around $400 dollars cheaper than most tier 1 builds.

Play ability Show

This deck is not perfect (as can be expected from most budget builds). Mana flooding is not exceedingly uncommon, and if it does happen, you'll have difficulty doing much. With a playset of two different pain lands, phyrexian mana, and three shock lands, you WILL take damage. Running your turns carefully, especially against burn strategies, is crucial if you plan on surviving any game. Keeping a Cranial Plating or an Ensoul Artifact in your hand longer than necessary while waiting for a Vault Skirge is not a bad move, as the lifegain rewarded for it will be just a tiny bit ridiculous. Most matchups that you win will have you around 10 life, unless you had not resistance against a huge Vault Skirge, in which case I've found the total usually averages around 20-25, up to as high as 30. Most good wins against similarly competitive (meaning non-first tier decks) will go around either a 2-0 or 2-1, though some decks will tear it apart (everyone has their bad matchups).

Playing The Deck Show

A good hand can run off of one land. A Darksteel Citadel, a Springleaf Drum , and a creature would be a hand to keep every time. DO NOT be afraid to lose life, as long as your are careful with how you do it.

Magical Christmas Land Show

In Magical Christmas Land, where every hand that you want is perfect, and the cards always turn out the way you want them to, you will get one of a few perfect hands. This is one, and how you should go about playing it.

Ornithopter, Springleaf Drum , Darksteel Citadel, Vault Skirge, Cranial Plating, City of Brass, and Thoughtcast .

Turn 1: Cast Ornithopter, play Darksteel Citadel, cast Springleaf Drum , tap Springleaf Drum and Ornithopter, add any color, lose 2 and cast Vault Skirge.

Turn 2: Play City of Brass, tap it and lose 1, cast Thoughcast for from affinity for artifacts, draw two. Tap drum and thopter for any color, add with the citadel, cast Cranial Plating.

Turn 3: Tap Darksteel Citadel for , equip Cranial Plating to Vault Skirge, swing for 6 in the air with lifelink, plus whatever artifacts you drew and had extra mana to play. Play the rest of the game with high advantage.

Card Reasoning Show

Cranial Plating makes one of many viable targets huge, swinging for five and up with an Ornithopter. That's the definition of hilarious.

Springleaf Drum very cheap artifact on the board, taps a creature to add mana. Synergizes well with drops and cheap creatures to help throw out and drops.

Etched Champion a 2/2 body, the majority of your damage is going to be dealt with this guy. Metalcraft is easy to hit and near impossible to lose, basically giving it universal protection.

Master of Etherium firstly, provides the boosting anthem effect for your other creatures, of which you'll have a lot. Secondly, this card gets out of hand very fast, being a huge body, sometimes as big as 9/9 or 10/10. For . Not bad.

Memnite , and Ornithopter both , usually either chump blockers or just pieces to make Springleaf Drum more effective. These both add to Thoughtcast , helping you get an early double draw for nearly nothing.

Porcelain Legionnaire a 3/1 with first strike, easy to get out for two mana, great target for Ensoul Artifact, and Cranial Plating

The Sideboard Show

The sideboard of this deck is mostly up to the user's discretion, I myself swap cards around in it back and forth constantly. Most cards in it have copies within the deck, and are for adding what you feel you don't have enough of. However there are a few exceptions:

Apostle's Blessing is a good card for defense against targetted artifact hate, or to get a nice attack through. Side in against creature/artifact hate, or pillowfort styled decks.

Ethersworn Canonist shuts down faster, non artifact based strategies. It slows down multiple strategies that would want to throw a ton at you all at once. It also stops Snapcaster Mage from being as effective.

Radiant Flames is in to hate on token or ridiculous aggro decks, and with the varied mana base, it isn't hard to get two or three damage to everything. Use with caution, it does hit your creatures.

Signal Pest is good to throw in if your opponent is playing a solitaire or non-interactive deck, helping your combat to be that much more damaging to an opponent on turn 2.

Torpor Orb is a good defense against just about every single Enter The Battlefield trigger based deck. It stops effects like Purphoros, God of the Forge, Snapcaster Mage, Vendilion Clique, Thought-Knot Seer and so many other cards that show up in competitive modern decks.
