The goal of this deck is to have scary elementals throw themselves at your opponent's face, have them hit your opponent's face as many times as possible, and then have you throw the otherwise exhausted elemental back at your opponent's face once again. And if they're still not dead, just do it again
So how do we do that as quickly as possible?
Well, we need 5 key pieces:Smokebraider, Incandescent Soulstoke, Temur Battle Rage, Fling, and either of these BIG elementals:
- Nova Chaser (For the maximum amount of potential damage. Can also allow Flamekin Harbinger's ETB to trigger again if it's championed)
- Lightning Skelemental (Forces the opponent to discard multiple cards)
If we're missing one of our elementals on turn one, we can fortunately enlist the help of Flamekin Harbinger to allow us to draw it on turn 2.
When these pieces all come together, they can go for lethal on turn 4. Here's How:
Turn 1: Mountain, Flamekin Harbinger to search up any needed elemental
Turn 2: Land, Smokebraider
Turn 3: Land, tap 1 land and Smokebraider to cast Incandescent Soulstoke.
Turn 4: Land, tap Incandescent Soulstoke + Smokebraider
to cast any of the big elementals for free (It also has +1/+1 thanks to Soulstoke).
- Pay 2 for Temur Battle Rage to give it double strike and have it swing in for 22 with Nova Chaser or 14 with Lightning Skelemental.
- Then pay your last 2 to Fling it for an additional 11 with Nova Chaser or or 7 with Lightning Skelemental, giving you a grand total of either 33 straight damage or 21 damage and an opponent who likely no longer has a hand. Either of which are likely to win you the game outright at this point.
If they're somehow still alive, Thunderkin Awakener can pull your elementals right back out of the graveyard to swing in once more.
We also have a cheaper hasty elemental in Hellspark Elemental) to continuously throw at our opponent with its Unearth ability, while Chandra, Acolyte of Flame can generate us some more fodder each turn, or pull out any of our Instants from the graveyard.
And Lightning Bolt because... well, it's Lightning Bolt.
Just keep throwing these elementals out there; your opponent's gonna run out of life sooner or later
All in all, this deck is a ton of fun if you like a really aggressive playstyle.
