The goal of this deck is to use Time Vault and Voltaic Key to make it always your turn. This is not an automatic victory, since plenty of effects that can be used on someone else’s turn may still be used. However, it drastically limits most opposing decks and will become more affective as opponents tap out their mana, creatures and tap abilities.
Step 1: Like most decks that need a specific combo, you start by buying time. Excluding Steel Overseer, all the creatures are 0 mana cost, giving high odds of having blockers immediately.
This should provide the needed time to draw Time Vault and Voltaic Key, both of which are easy to afford. However, Tinker can be used to convert another artifact into either and Mystic Tutor can acquire Tinker if your luck is quite poor.
Step 2: Once you have Time Vault and Voltaic Key on the battlefield, use Voltaic Key to untap Time Vault, then tap Time Vault to gain another turn. In your newly acquired turn, Voltaic Key will untap, allowing you to tap Time Vault for another turn again. In this way, your turns continue unless the combo is somehow interrupted.
Step 3: Now that it is always your turn, you can use Steel Overseer to add +1/+1 counters too your artifact creatures, allowing them to overcome an opponent that has a way to stop themselves from becoming tapped out.
