I wanted to build a control deck that is meant to be played on the opponents turn, but have plenty of creatures to deal out my own damage. The list of creatures i have needed to serve multiple purposes. One, have some sort of control mechanic Spell Queller and Mausoleum Wanderer. Two, card advantage Bygone Bishop Bomat Courier. Third, can be played as instants Rattlechains. Finally, of course some kind of evasion like flying or haste. I then supplemented all of that with counterspells and removal spells. I also added Spectral Shepherd in case I need an ETB trigger from Rattlechains or added protection from targeting. I can bounce a Rattlechains and then cast it again to give something hexproof. Authority of the Consuls is in this deck to protect against aggro decks that use haste and to gain life.
