Sideboard

A very competitive American Control Deck. Will take any advice or suggestion that may further improve this deck.

How to Play:Against aggro, control the board with your cheap removals and counters in the early rounds and win in the late game with any of your finishers.

Against control, DON'T MISS A LAND DROP! I can't stress enough how much important that is against the mirror-control match up. The moment you miss a land drop, is the moment you gave your opponent the biggest advantage. And Save those Counterfluxes for countering his "win cons". He won't be able to counter back.

CARDS:Aetherling - A one-of in most control decks. In the right hands, he's an unkillable killing machine that can swing for 8 each turn.

Assemble the Legion - If not dealt with early on. It can get way out of hand very quickly.

Detention Sphere - Exiles any target non-land permanent. That means creatures, enchantments, artifacts, and those pesky gods. Basically an O-ring with an upside.

Elspeth, Sun's Champion - its +1 gives 3 soldiers a turn while ticking up its loyalty. While its -3 is a boardwipe for all creatures with power of 4 or greater. And its -7 is just a total bomb. In most cases, once you get the emblem, you win the game.

Ral Zarek - its first abiliy gives you utility, it allows you to tap your opponent permanent and allows you to untap yours. its second acts as a pseudo-removal. And its final ability is just a FUN way to finish the game

Jace, Architect of Thought - Lets you slow the pace of damage from aggro. lets you dig 3 cards deep. and finally if you reach 8, he can tutor 1 card from each deck to your battlefield.

Sphinx's Revelation - gain X life, draw X Cards. Need I say more?

Supreme Verdict - A wrath that can't be countered

Mizzium Motars - to handle an early pack rat, loxodon smiter, blood baron of vizkopa, stormbreath dragon, brimaz king of orezkos. and the list goes on. It can also be used as a one-sided boardwipe.

Counterflux - A hard Counter that CAN'T be denied

Dissolve - A hard counter that scrys

Izzet Charm - Counter, early removal, and draws you more cards. Couldn't ask for anything more.

Deicide - Enchantment HATE at instant speed. Really good in the meta game. Oh and it works especially well against god cards. >:)

Turn//Burn - can burn for 2 in the early game. Can kill huge creatures in the mid - late game. Even gods if they're devotion is met. Can also do the occasional 2-for-1.

Warleader's Helix - Damage and life gain at instant speed. It just spoke to me.

Pithing Needle - Activated abilities are now neutralized. Only known card in standard that can stop Aetherling from blinking out.

Stormbreath Dragon - evasive damage with flying, haste and protection from white that gets bigger later in the game.

Fiendslayer Paladin - Say goodbye to RDW and Burn decks

Blind Obedience - Haste?? Never heard such a thing!

Last Breath - Exile at Instant speed. Very good at the right situation.

Anger of the Gods -Early boardwipe that exiles

Glare of Heresy - exiles elspeth, det spheres, voice of resurgence, boros reckoner and many more.

Just ask any question for more information.
