Seems crazy, right? Why would anyone want to win via Lab maniac? how do you even secure that kind of combo?

the shell is bant control. the result is one of the funnest decks you can play

the point of the deck is to draw out your deck. literally draw out your deck. the entire thing, via Sphinx's Revelation and Garruk, Primal Hunter.

sphinx's revelation you start using around x=3 or so, after you have given the board a Supreme Verdict or a Terminus, maybe multiple. Grove of the Guardian s are used as the giant fodder, which is created using the garruk beasts. that 8/8 elemental token then turns Garruk, Primal Hunter into a;

2GGG: Draw 8 cards.

He should never ultimate. Ever. even at 6 counters, his -3 is better. always. create beasts for protection or to get tapped down for grove yes, but never should he be ulted. even just -3 on his beast is draw 3 cards, create a few beasts.

Prime Speaker Zegana is there as a follow up to garruk. He +1's, Creates a beast. Next turn, Zegana comes in as a 4/4 and draws 4. garruk -3's and draws 4, so he will still have a counter. Of course, She could come in on something bigger, such as Obzedat, Or even the Grove Elemental, and just go off.

Obzedat is Very Synergetic. He provides good recovery in the form of his bouncing life gain, he is a good beater after a boardwipe, helps garruk draw 5 or zegana draw 6, and can be whisked away so I can flash in a boardwipe on the opponent's turn.

eventually you will hit your last couple cards. a lone Cavern of Souls so your Laboratory Maniac can't be countered. flashing in multiple lab maniac's via Alchemist's Refuge might be necessary against Abrupt Decay, flashed in Supreme Verdict or other measures. your lab maniac WILL stick.

You never want to be stuck discarding, so find your Reliquary Tower and lay it down first. keep the card advantage, and there is no reason you should lose. Until you find the tower, just discard your lands; the deck will draw you more mana eventually.

GTC MADE me add black. Another Sweet as heck boardwipe spell (that stops any possible Reanimation) and Obzedat? It is DEFINITELY worth it. since i have Farseek, that is ;)

This deck started as a question me and my girlfriend had; "what would happen if you made a deck based around sphinx's revelation and garruk primal hunter?"
