Built around the natural synergy between Ever After and meld cards from Eldritch Moon, I brewed a casual deck that puts the creatures into the graveyard and then digs them back out. Card specific notes:
Compulsive Research/Careful Study/Monastery Siege/Taigam's Scheming: Cheap spells to get creatures into the graveyard in the early turns. Since the deck is best when you have creatures of the same meld pair, we really need to make sure you get the matching pairs, so the more cards we put in the graveyard early on the better chance of there being the sweet stuff later. As for these why I chose these cards in particular and not other spells that would be better...they're budget and I have them.
Corpse Connoisseur: Although a strictly worse Entomb, it is also WAY cheaper ($$$ wise) and not heartbreaking to mill.
Animate Dead/Unburial Rites/Zombify: Pretty standard budget reanimate spells, nothing too fancy.
Ever After: This card in particular is fun and the reason I started this deck in the first place. While it's not really that good of a reanimator, the fun of pulling out both parts of a meld card on the same turn on an unsuspecting opponent just seemed too fun to pass up!
I know there are two cards notably absent from the decklist: Hanweir Battlements/Hanweir Garrison. I tried finding a way to get these guys in here to have the joy of assembling "meld tron" but the requirement for red mana just proved too taxing on both the mana base (and thus my budget). 3 color is hard enough! If you have the stuff for it, though, definitively shove them in there.
This is NOT meant to be a super competitive deck in any way; there are much better reanimator decks out there that actually get good creatures quicker! It's just a spicy home brew I was fooling around with and will probably try out sometime. As always, feel free to leave suggestion for what to put in and take out. Buh-Bye!
