Animar and Friends

Commander / EDH

Tavarde

Ok so I've posted previous incarnations of this deck before, but none of them were ever really a finished product. Some of them were posted before really play-testing the array of cards listed. But this...this is the final form of my Animar, Soul of Elements deck. Well, almost. I still need to drop the money on a few better lands (which ones should be apparent based on the card list) but all the creatures and supporting enchantments and artifacts are pretty much set in stone. What you have here is a deck that builds fast, hits hard and doesn't take "no" for an answer. It has a variety of different win conditions and while they're a little tricky to pull off they're glorious when they work. Like any deck it still has weaknesses, in this case primarily being early, consistent pressure on Animar. But I've got all the protection for my commander that I care to have without compromising the rest of the deck. With that said, I welcome suggestions that might further improve it. Please, comment generously and comment often. And don't hold back.

Update 4/4/17: Since originally posting this deck it has become a bit more streamlined. Lost the fluff, added better supporting cards for the overall idea of the deck - play Animar, flood with creatures, run opponents over as quick as humanly possible. There's no graveyard recursion, very little land fetching and only sparse spot removal. I know EDH decks should be more versatile but I'm pleased with where it stands nonetheless.
