Nothing strikes fear into the mind more than the unknown.

I started playing during Onslaught block and have always been fascinated with morph. It's such a strange ability. Sadly, I have never really had the chance to play with it though. I love strange cards and instant speed tricks. Morph fills both roles especially well.

Many players have not even heard of it, let alone played against it. It's a terrible ability on paper. Truly. Luckily, EDH exists and a lot of support cards have been printed since.

Enter Animar.

I think the Timmy's of the world damn near shit themselves after seeing this guy. "So, let me get this straight. I can play all my huge dudes for next to nothing? SIGN ME UP!" I went the other direction. With morph, it's more of a mind game. Sure, you could see a 15/15 destroyer of worlds and understand that it's a huge problem. But a 2/2 face-down card could be anything. Even a boat.

I decided to make it more of a control build overall with a counter spell suite. I looked through all the morph creatures and only added the best ones. The deck can always go infinite with Cloudstone and Animar out, but I really only use Animar for the cost reduction.

I've considered going mono-blue with Ixidor, but I feel like it'll be taxed on mana all the time. Animar skips the initial morph costs and you can get straight to business. I've also considered adding Leyline of Anticipation, Vedalken Orrery, etc to abuse flash, but I feel like it'll get too cute at that point.
