Sorcery (3)

Commander (1)

Commander: foil Arcum Dagsson

I've been playing this deck for about a year now with minor tweaks here and there. All of the cards listed are cards that I've able to come across along with hard work, dedication, and mostly love for this deck. For anyone who likes to play combo with a splash of control, this is the deck for you. I'll go into small detail for each of my preferred win combos and how I typically play the deck.

When I first begin to play, I typically look for a hand with any sort of fast mana and/or counter magic. An example optimal hand would be 2 Islands, a counter spell, a mana dork, and a haste effect or way to get one. The fast mana and creature is absolutely necessary but the others are less crucial.

The initial tutor after a typical turn 3 commander is boots/greaves, Thousand-Year Elixir if I have more than one artifact creature, or Myr Turbine.

Myr Turbine is the all star of this deck. This card allows you to tutor reliably for turns to come.

After the stable tutoring engine is accomplished, I'll typically search for some protection. Darksteel Forge is the beast here. From here, we proceed to assemble our engines and combos:

Grim Monolith + Power Artifact = infinite colorless mana

Grim Monolith + Power Artifact + Staff of Domination = infinite life, infinite draw power, and infinite tapping and untapping for tutors with arcum or horde protection.

Basalt Monolith + Rings of Brighthearth + 2 mana = infinite colorless mana

Basalt Monolith + Rings of Brighthearth + 2 mana + Staff of Domination = Same as Grim Monolith + Power Artifact + Staff of Domination

A side plan if the staff gets exiled is Sensei's Devining Top with the latter of the combos. This combo is sorcery speed, making it easier for the opponents to react, but is still completely usable if it comes down to it.

With one of this engines assembled, I typically like to win with a giant Hangarback Walker with greaves or boots that is essentially unblockable with the staff online, or generating infinite myrs with Myr Turbine + infinite mana + Rings of Brighthearth + Voltaic Key.

The most traditional and reliable (and also most boring) combo win con in this deck is Darksteel Forge + Mycosynth Lattice + Nevinyrral's Disk. With this assembled, you literally destroy all of the opponent's board states (aside from indestructible pieces) while you remain unphased.

To wrap this lengthy description up, I'm going to mention the elephant in the room that is in this deck: Possessed Portal. This card is everything you want it to be and more. Every turn, every person sacrifices or discards a card and cannot not draw. Period. This is absolutely game winning if this card is played out early due to the fact that your opponents are stuck with the answers that may or may not be in there hands at the current time. Because this deck focuses on tutoring and not drawing, this card only benifits us with a proper engine. My typically favorite combination is Myr Turbine + Unwinding Clock for a myr to sacrifice on every turn, allowing you to stay ahead of the others.

I hope the one's who check this out enjoy it as much as I do!
