This is my first deck I'm developing for post-rotation Standard. Would love feedback!
This deck plays off Sidisi's dredge ability and her populate zombies trigger. Basically, I want to survive until round 5 or 6 by playing Sidisi / Nyx Weaver as early as possible, getting a lot of cards into my graveyard, controlling tempo through counter spells and destroying creatures.
Nyx Weaver is critical for me to control my strategy and not be afraid to dredge myself too much. I can just exile the Weaver for one of my key strategy cards -- Empty the Pits, the Whip of Erebos, or Sidisi.
By round 5 or 6, I should be ready to get 10-12 zombies into play thank to Empty the Pits. And because of the Whip of Erebos, all my creatures will have lifelink!
Nemesis of Mortals
help deal with big baddies the other player(s) might have.
Necropolis Fiend
helps against flying decks more powerful creatures and also has a kick ass crippling ability in case I have bad luck with draws and don't get a Empty the Pits in my hand or graveyward.
UPDATE (11/15/14)
Changed up my mana base to allow for quicker play by having 1) less "enters tapped" lands and 2) making all my lands swamps, which will help me play my mid-game "win" card -- Empty the Pits much quicker.
Also, added more control so I can better survive until round 5 or 6, where my deck really starts to play. Did this by getting rid of some useless creatures that were thing only to make zombies.
