(The Atlantean Double-Mindbender... can't decide if that should be mixed drink or a figure-skating move... or both...)
So, I started toying with this idea yesterday while thinking about KrazyCaley's "Mono-Blue Aggro" Deckbuilder's Challenge. (Summary: build a classic, Sligh-style aggro/burn deck... only build it in mono blue. Good fun.)
While I think the other deck I made would kick much ass (see Faerie Mindbomber), that deck takes a pretty standard tack. This deck, on the other hand, would be utterly pants-on-head bonkers to run.
Why on gawd's green earth would someone run 8x
Magical Hack
s in one deck?
Consider:...
Lord of Atlantis
+
Mind Bend
= all Merfolk get +1/+1s and your choice of landwalk.
...
Crackleburr
+
Sleight of Mind
= a 2/2 elemental for 3 that churns out a Lightning Bolt and an Unsummon for every 4 mana you feed it.
... Hydroblast +
Sleight of Mind
= a nigh-universal spot remover
...
Abjure
s are 1-mana Cancels once you've got your Lullmage working.
... a hacked
Crackleburr
+ a couple 3/3 Grimoire Thiefs churning out 2/2 forestwalking mermaids every time you counter your opponent's spells by turning their stolen cards against them?... well, let's just say it'd get obnoxious real quick. grin
(This is all in theory, of course, because I don't own some of the cards that make this deck function. But I foresee myself digging through the binders at the local card shop sometime soooon...)
