Maybeboard

Delusions of Grandeur have never been quite so...Prosperous

The general idea for this deck is to be an Artifact-themed Prosper build, using the Artifact typing of the treasures Prosper grants to create Synergy and ultimately Win the Game.

The deck primarily wins through burn effects from artifacts entering (Reckless Fireweaver, Underhanded Designs, Ingenious Artillerist) or leaving the battlefield (Disciple of the Vault, Marionette Master, Mayhem Devil, Nadier's Nightblade) to burn opponent's life totals. Most of these effects can be tutored for (Imperial Recruiter, Gamble, Profane Tutor). Thanks to Prosper, Tome-Bound, we create Treasures when we cast from exile with Impulse Draw (Light Up the Stage, Commune with Lava, March of Reckless Joy), Creatures (Professional Face-Breaker, Unlucky Witness, Dream Devourer), Enchantments (Theater of Horrors, Rain of Riches, Valakut Exploration, Elkin Lair), and Artifacts (Uba Mask, Harnfel, Horn of Bounty  ).

Inspiring Statuary allows us to "store" treasures created for extra mana. Ghirapur AEther Grid provides another way to "store" treasures while pinging the board. Daretti, Ingenious Iconoclast also acts to control the board while possibly triplicating important artifacts. Liquimetal Torque allows us to deal with Rakdos's worst nightmare, Enchantments, as well as the occasional Planeswalker. Goblin Welder recurs "real" artifacts like Bolas's Citadel or Aetherflux Reservoir by sacrificing token:treasures. Urabrask, Heretic Praetor disrupts opponent's hands while providing us more draw and treasure.

We also have secondary wins in Torment of Hailfire and Aetherflux Reservoir. Torment of Hailfire is a bit of a boring way to win, but can easily reach X values to either win or severely cripple our opponents. Aetherflux Reservoir wins simply by the sheer number of spells this deck can cast in one turn with the amount of draw it relies on and the ability to effectively reduce the mana cost of spells by getting treasures from casting them. It is also notable that it combos with Bolas's Citadel and Sensei's Divining Top to create infinite life and damage.

      • Revel in Riches- A Prosper deck is probably the best home for those trying to win off this card. But I think for me the win is far too inconsistent, and draws too much hate from the rest of the table to justify this relatively slow treasure producer.
      • Grim Hireling- This deck simply cannot attack reliably well enough to justify the inclusion for treasure production, while the second ability is a bad rate and slow.
      • "Steal" Effects- This is meant to broadly include some Gonti, Lord of Luxury type of effects that requires an opponent's library. These effects are largely too inconsistent for me, as an opponent's deck is not built to support my deck, and the effects can whiff on top of that. Particularly Etali, Primal Storm eats the removal my opponents have, which can be nice except that it took me 6 mana to draw the removal to myself.

Now, with the deck largely out of the way we go onto the cards I am considering.

      • Cut / Ribbons- Another Torment of Hailfire effect might be worthwhile, because...well...Blue exists. But probably not needed...?
      • Pyre-Sledge Arsonist - Could deal devastating damage after sacrificing a bunch of Treasures, but I am concerned it may be too slow.
      • Dragonspark Reactor- This might prove to be a little too jank, but if this is out before a Brass's Bounty, it could kill someone. And it can be recurred for a treasure with Goblin Welder.
      • Storm-Kiln Artist- 4 mana is a hefty price to me for this, despite how much mana this deck makes. But it could be a good treasure maker.
      • Quicksmith Genius- This could create card draw, as opposed to impulse draw, I am just not sure it is better or needed.

Lastly, Thank You to anyone who read this list, and all the more thanks to anyone who makes suggestions!

      Suggestions

      Updates Add

New additions and subtractions for Baldur's Gate-

Florian, Voldaren Scion- I like this card but too often it would die without getting much value.

Pontiff of Blight- As nice as this finisher is, it is often just a bit too slow.

Murderous Rider- I liked having something to cast from exile, but the "something" in this case was just awful.

Nalfeshnee- This synergizes much more with the deck than Pontiff, though it lacks the finish that Pontiff had. Still seems like a great improvement.

Delayed Blast Fireball- This just goes in every red commander deck. And especially those that abuse it's text. It replaces Murderous Rider, since I'd rather most of my opponents stuff and hit them than get rid of one creature.

Ingenious Artillerist- Another finisher! This replaces Florian, who was not bad but did have consistency issues.
