Inspired by BlaineTog's deck No cards for you! -- budget hand disruption - check it out!
This deck is slightly different. The big additions are:
Treasure Map
- This card is amazing. Scrying is excellent, and when it flips you get three Treasure tokens which can be used to ramp into the Herald of Anguish and then get sacrificed to draw a card. It is even better in multiples as you can scry before you draw.
Gonti, Lord of Luxury - A personal favourite of mine. You can indulge in so much satisfaction when the Luxurious Lord capitalises on your opponent's best card against them, or just remove one of their threats. I hate being on the receiving end of one of my own cards stolen by an opponent's Gonti...
Gifted Aetherborn - They are great for offence and defence and also occasionally enable the two of Arterial Flow.
Harsh Scrutiny - One mana to sneak a peek at your opponents hand and scry one is the worst case scenario - good value in my book. It's a bonus to strip a creature from their hand too.
The Desert land package of Ifnir Deadlands and Scavenger Grounds also play a good role.
So, the deck does well at:
a) Removing creature threats from the battlefield
b) Preventing threats from being cast
c) Punishing the opponent when they have no resources a.k.a the big finisher....
The sideboard is for aggro and token decks - Yahenni's Expertise, Bontu's Last Reckoning and Demon of Dark Schemes.
Lost Legacy can get rid of pesky cards that are hard to deal with.
Crook of Condemnation is great against control decks which rely on getting their graveyards back to avoid decking themselves and can help against Torrential Gearhulk and The Scarab God (thanks BlaineTog for pointing out this great card).
