Baked in a Pie

I loved Throne of Eldraine when it came out, and my fatpack pulls immediately suggested two decks--Chulane, and Baked in a Pie --one with a fa-la-la storybook theme in bant colors, and one with the more wicked fairy tales in sultai colors (though the blue is more of a splash). (Kenrith would come later, with it's obvs knights and princesses theme.) For more "wicked" fairy tale references, think of Hansel & Gretel, Four & Twenty Blackbirds, the troll under the bridge, Three Little Pigs' wolves, Bluebeard, dark knights, spiteful sprites, the Weird Sisters (or three fates), Snow White's wicked stepmother, etc. etc. The commander I could find with the best (or rather complimentary) synergy for this deck is Damia, Sage of Stone , which makes for really fun card draw and ramp as the game progresses. I researched witches from past sets to lean in to the wicked witch theme, and threw in some fun curses to give it flair. ELD food tokens come in very handy, too--between hungry trolls and poisoned apples, not to mention that pie--there's a fair amount of eating. Yum yum yum! Mwah-ha-ha-ha!
