This is a deck I put together this week for my local FNM. I went in with the deck untested and ended up first, with a 4-1 record.

I created the deck because locally, we have a heavy aggro-oriented meta. I usually play Bant Control, but I would pretty consistently lose 2-1 against RDW, G/W aggro, G/B Ooze aggro, etc. If I had no relevant plays by turn 4, I was going to die, and sometimes I'd just lose anyway.

So, I wanted to make a deck that would ensure I could live long enough to cast Angel of Serenity, and I believe this one does it. Between the Avacyn's Pilgrim, Farseek, and Centaur Healer s, you should comfortably get to 4-5 mana to cast your cards that let you take over the game.

I didn't really play any control decks, but I would like to think you have so many threats (plus Gavony Township to make ALL your creatures threats) that you should hopefully win game one, as well as Detention Sphere to deal with problem walkers, artifacts, etc. The sideboard is also geared to deal with control decks.

I would consider adding Sphinx's Revelation to the mainboard, but I felt like I had so many high casting cost cards anyway that it would only give me a lot of dead starting hands.
