I've been brewing this deck in many forms for a while now. It centers around a Horrors tribal theme mainly inspired by the Thing in the Ice   flip ability. It's become pretty apparent that Thing in the Ice   is useless unless you're able to trigger it fast and for me at the time, the most budget way was using cards with the "Madness" mechanic. Being able to cast something like Faithless Looting and then discarding a Fiery Temper or Stromkirk Occultist and then repeating with Lightning Axe into another madness card is the ideal sort of way to get your Awoken Horror, fast and cheap, although I'm not opposed to switching these out for anything that can storm instants and sorceries fast, Baral's Expertise? I'm sure there's something arguably better in modern. I've also tried to gear the deck more towards card draw and less direct burn hence the Chasm Skulker inclusions. Cathartic Reunion, Faithless Looting, Collective Defiance, Bedlam Reveler, and Forgotten Creation give us plenty of variety in the way we draw/discard cards; some let us draw heavily in a turn to pump the Chasm Skulker's if there's a good few on the field. Finally Shreds of Sanity is a nice recursion powerhouse when used with "madness" cards. Shared Animosity goes well with all the horror creatures making them stronger attackers throughout the game. We also get the added bonus of Shared Animosity working for any squid tokens the Chasm Skulker's create. This seems like it could be a good out of the blue (lol) win condition. Our burn is all about Lightning Axe, Fiery Temper, Avacyn's Judgment, and Collective Defiance with Nahiri's Wrath as a sideboard option. Spellskite is a pretty potent safety net for Thing in the Ice   and Metallic Mimic. I'll probably cut a couple things to make room for counterspells but not sure what to go with here, I love Counterflux for its finality, Mana Leak has a reliability to it, but Forbid has me the most interested as it has potential synergy with "madness" mechanics. All advice/ideas are welcome!

been contemplating flashback as a side theme for this deck as it more or less has synergy with discarding cards; the only thing I've found with flashback that seems to fit is Increasing Vengeance but if anyone knows of other flashback shenanigans, maybe cutting all the madness cards and Shreds of Sanity replacing them with Past in Flames and cheap burn/flashback stuff. Let me know!
