Sideboard

Updating my G/B Leap list for BFZ

I could have gone a few ways with the list, looking at a few Aristrocrats lists in addition to Megamorph lists. At the end of the day, I decided to stick to the more "Rock" like deck and play the grindy "fair" game of Magic rather than play around with a ton of sac outlet shenanigans - although the deck does have a little sac-outlet subtheme. I took the main list I had from pre-BFZ and compared it to the popularity of G/W Megamorph.

The core Den Protector/Deathmist Raptor package gets a kick in the later stages of the game from Whisperwood Elemental - I really liked this synergy pre-BFZ, so I wanted to keep this part of the deck in tact. Using Evolutionary Leap to cycle through blockers/extra Manifested creatures is super annoying for opponents to play against.

Liliana is a solid addition despite only have one dedicated sac outlet. Flipping her over with a Leap activation pops up frequently, which lets her go to town on opponent's hands and getting back Whisperwoods, etc I've lost before.

Since my Graveyard tends to fill up with fetches & leap creatures, Tasigur takes the slot of an extra Whisperwood to provide more tempo, plus his ability is a solid addition to the list.

Warden of the First Tree is solid beater, gives the deck something to do in the first few turns or later in the game when you have extra mana laying around.

Hangarback is just super powerful, especially with Leap.

Nissa was taken from the G/W Megamorph list and I think might be a good addition here. She finds us a land, which is never a bad thing. Plus, she adds to the extra angle of attack when she flips, making elementals and provider planeswalker power. If she's too slow, I may be looking for other options.

Ob Nixilis was included since he is powerful enough to pretty much run away with a game hismelf. Placing him behind a mucked-up ground game seems super powerful - plus he can take out creatures in a stalemate to force a win with my creatures.

I'm a little torn on the spell package, and it needs some tweaking. Removal is a little weird since I don't highly value Ultimate Price with Mantis Rider/Devoid creatures running around. I tried running Gather the Pack to work as a pseudo-Satyr Wayfinder (something I'm really hurting without here) but finding a creature just sin't the same as finding a land in a clutch situation (while discarding a Raptor, for instance).

Bloodsoaked Champion was something I looked at and may add back in (I had some in the original, pre-BFZ list I took out fr Elvish Mystics) as well as Blisterpod. I think I had too many Blisterpods (4x) when I tried it and replaced it with the Warden play set instead. May re-visit them if the deck turns out too slow (maybe replace Nissa?)

I think this deck has some tools to deal with both of those decks right now, although it may be a little slow/soft to red decks. Sideboard is still really rough - I can't play much due to work at the moment. I may just be going too in-between to lists instead of full-on in one direction.
