Crackling Doom is one of the best removal spells post rotation as it's instant speed and will usually hit the most threatening creature your opponent controls.
Draconic Roar
is the best replacement for
lighting strike
and the fact that it can potentially hit face for 3 damage if you reveal a dragon makes this card absolutely amazing. Especially if you have a Soulfire Grand Master in play.
Mardu Charm serves as another excellent form of spot removal at 4 damage allowing it to hit a lot of early game threats. Not to mention the other modes can be incredibly useful as well.
Utter End is another great instant speed removal that can not only get rid of planeswalkers, but prevent Hangarback Walker from producing any tokens.
Ruinous Path
is a decent kill spell, but at sorcery speed sometimes won't hit the threat when you need it to. The big bonus that makes this spell good is the Awakening cost. The ability to essentially play a 4/4 with haste, and kill a creature can be a huge tempo swing.
Murderous Cut and
Wild Slash
are self explanatory.
Kolaghan, the Storm's Fury
is a great beater because of his flying evasion, as well as dash. The anthem effect is also pretty great because it triggers off of any of your attacking dragons.
Seeker of the Way
serves as a good early play and a way to gain some life early on due to the amount of removal in the deck, and his prowess trigger.
Soulfire Grand Master is just an all around amazing card in this deck. Giving our instants and sorceries lifelink is ridiculous with the amount of direct damage spells in the deck essentially guarantees value. Couple that with the ability to return instant and sorceries to hand after resolution later on and it's a great way to continually threaten a kill spell.
Thunderbreak Regent survives most burn with his 4/4 stat line, but punishes the opponent for attempting to kill it by dealing 3 to them. The fact that it's a dragon also triggers
Kolaghan, the Storm's Fury
's anthem effect further buffing all attacking creatures.
Shambling Vent aside from providing a w/b mana source serves as another important source of lifegain in the deck.
Haven of the Spirit Dragon not only can help cast the dragons in the deck, but also serves as a means to recur them if need be.
