Sideboard

This is a slight modification of two separate decks: SBMTG Dev's Treasure Red and Corbin Hosler's Big Treasure Red .

The strategy is to hang around in early turns while ramping with Wily Goblin, Captain Lannery Storm, Treasure Map  , and Pirate's Pillage leading to strong late-game plays. These include Sunbird's Invocation, Burning Sun's Avatar  , and Etali, Primal Storm. Oh, and Glorybringer. We've got Mountains and Glorybringer, so we must be doing something right.

This runs a strong red removal package with Magma Spray, Abrade, Lightning Strike, and Cut / Ribbons. While Cut / Ribbons is our only mainboard black spell, it is incredibly important as late game reach in the case of a board stall, and can also deal with opponents' Glorybringer and Kumena, Tyrant of Orazca.

Decks running Search for Azcanta   and Approach of the Second Sun are likely our worst matchup, so reaching into black is necessary for these matchups. In the sideboard, this deck runs Doomfall and Duress to help deal with the control matchup. Against go-wide strategies, we can side in Sweltering Suns and Chaos Maw. Against Aggro, we bring in the full set of Magma Spray and Sweltering Suns, as well as Gleaming Barrier and Noxious Gearhulk to help protect our life total.
