Sideboard

Maybeboard

My personal iteration of the ever so paupular tron, with very few changes (just one) from any of the ones you can find on any netdecking site. So the goal isn't as much to block your opponent and Ghostly Flicker + Stonehorn Dignitary + Mnemonic Wall lock until you win, which is still in the deck because it is very strong but will def get banned in the future, but to have quite a bit of other interaction in the form of life gain and fog and gain a huge advantage, mostly by wiping the board with the titular card and going smash. The big star for this version is Blitz Leech. In an ever changing meta where 3/2 flyers and Stompy are the hottest thing, being able to flicker a 5/2 that puts -2/-2 as an ETB effect is very nice, also you can tutor it with Mystical Teachings since it has Flash. Another cool one is Power Sink. Usually Condescend is the go to XU counterspell, but being able to abuse Mnemonic Wall recursion with Ephemerate or Ghostly Flicker you can guess how much unfun you can make magic for other people by forcing them not to play spells in fear of continous tap outs. Sideboard is really for any matchup, Stompy or aggro decks in general get recked by the mainboard thanks to Blitz Leech, then you have Pyroblast for Delver matchups, Blue Elemental Blast for red decks, like Affinity or Burn, enchantment hate for Bogles and Abrade for destroying Relic of Progenitus in the best case, or killing a creature. Abrade is particularly cool since if for some reason your opponent doesn't sideboard a graveyard hate artifact, it's not a dead card. Most tricky matchup in my experience is Izzet / Dimir Faries. Too many counterspells and Spellstrutter Sprite is such a pain. My strategy that so far worked is just sideboarding in a huge threats like Ulamog's Crusher, bait out counterspells and make them sacrifice everything. On game 1 if you're lucky you can lock them out with the Power Sink lock and keep the Ninja of the Deep Hours in check with the Blitz Leech, but having the two Pyroblast is also nice, however a single Spellstrutter Sprite can counter it even if you clear the board of faries. If the board gets out of control, Rolling Thunder can clear the board. Speaking of clearing the board, Ulamog's Crusher is really good against Burn, since it can clear all their lands and even if they kill it, 8 damage spent to kill a creature is a major set back, especially since Burn can't really draw cards effectively. As for the lands, I'm not really sold by Thriving Isle. There is already decent mana fixing, and that 1 life from the dual tap lands can mean life or death in some games. In the event that Stonehorn Dignitary gets banned, which I think it will because Ghostly Flicker and Ephemerate have weaker counterparts that could still work (like Displace), just add more Mnemonic Wall, Blitz Leech and Moment's Peace and the deck will function basically the same.
