Tired of playing mono white humans? Do you have an insatiable lust for blood? Do you enjoy emptying your hand onto the board by turn 4? If so this deck may be for you! This deck build is a fairly standard build of / vampires, with slight modifications to better attack the meta.
Card Choice and Quantity Justification:
Stensia Masquerade: One of our worst matchups is mono-white humans thanks to their cheap and early blockers. Stensia provides us with a way to not only increase our damage output, but potentially an instant speed way to punch through their defenses!
Falkenrath Gorger (4): We run 4 in this deck as it is a primary engine enabler for the remainder of the creatures when paired with tormenting voice, ravenous bloodseeker, or heir of falkenrath, while allowing for a quick 2 damage if drawn T1. combos well with Olivia as well, enabling a chain of summons with madness and Olivia counters as a finisher.
Asylum Visitor (2): After play testing with this card, I was not impressed with it at 4, which seems to be the standard quantity run. Ideally you're able to apply large amounts of pressure without having to vacate your whole hand, and this card encourages the more reckless play-style, which I struggle to do (I'm a player at heart).
Incorrigible Youths (2): I'm debating moving this up to three just because swinging for 7 on turn 3 is so darn good. Capable of applying immense pressure on our opponents, but also likely to be dead in hand without a proper madness enabler.
Heir of Falkenrath
and Ravenous Bloodseeker (4): These are our 2 main madness enablers and what allow the deck to be a thing. A starting hand of 7 isn't at its best unless you have at least one of these two and at least one madness card in hand. Mandatory 4 of.
Olivia, Mobilized for War (3): Dumb name, dumb artwork, but man can she turn a game around. Her ability is very hit or miss, but we will take a 3/3 flier on turn 3 any day of the week.
Drana, Liberator of Malakir (2): Drana is one of my favorite cards in the deck, but with no madness ability unless Gorger is on the field, she's a little slow for the deck. You still want to run 2 of her though because her ability really sets up the rest of the team. Gets out of hand very very quickly with Stensia Masquerade (+2/+2 every turn sound good?).
Indulgent Aristocrat (1): Unassuming creature, but is more of a defensive card than an offensive weapon. Provides a sack outlet to mitigate losses to removal while providing a pump to the rest of the team. Depending on the matchup, he is usually one of the first cards sided out.
Removal: Fiery Temper (4) Lightning Axe (2) I opted to remove the two lightning Axe for 2 tormenting voice to help recover from the control matchup board wipe. Temper kills most creatures in aggro/midrange decks, and I'd rather have the option to stabilize again quickly. Additionally, Lightning Axe is only good against creatures, so no Planeswalker hate, and it still doesn't deal with Dragonlord Atarka.
Tormenting Voice (2): See Removal
The Rest: Everything else is standard vampire filler. Big creatures or fliers to get in damage quickly and undeterred.
