Goal
The goal of the deck is to stall with -1/-1 counters and creature removal until I can ultimate enough plane walkers or steal enough creatures with Necroskitter and Grimoire of the Dead to win the game.
Planeswalkers
Nicol Bolas, God-Pharaoh: Powerful removal and steals my opponents cards straight from their deck.
Daretti, Ingenious Iconoclast: Drops blocker artifacts that can be used by Tinker and card:Goblin to grab better artifacts. Destroys stuff. Ultimate usually duplicates a Contagion Engine for a boardwipe.
Tezzeret the Schemer: Makes artifact rocks. Minus is powerful removal with the amount of artifacts in the deck. Ultimate serves as an alternate win condition.
Saheeli Rai: Scry is nice for early game, but duplicating artifacts is where she shines. Ultimate ends up tutoring some combo of Contagion Engine, Grimoire of the Dead, and mana rocks.
Ral Zarek: Tapping and untapping can accelerate mana and allow multiple proliferations on one Contagion Engine. Minus is good removal with an ultimate that quickly accelerates the deck.
Dack Fayden: Serves as a repeatable Faithless Looting for hand fixing and pitching artifacts to Goblin Welder. With Mycosynth Lattice out you can use the minus to steal anything on the battlefield.
Ashiok, Nightmare Weaver: Steals creatures.
Creatures
Goblin Welder: Shuffles artifacts back and forth from graveyard to play. Allows Contagion Clasp and Contagion Engine to put -1/-1 counters on creatures continuously. Can accelerate mana with mana artifacts. Can draw cards with Baleful Strix.
Baleful Strix: Draws cards and is a flying deathtouch bird. Can't ask for better than that for 2 mana.
Kulrath Knight: Super stall. Stops my opponents creatures in their tracks as long as I can get counters on them.
Necroskitter: What's more fun than stealing my opponent's creatures when they die? After a Contagion Engine targeted creature destruction from my planeswalkers can get me what I want.
Spells
Faithless Looting: Pitches artifacts to graveyard for Goblin Welder and fishes for the cards I need.
Tinker: Turns all my bad artifacts into Contagion Engines! Also pulls Grimoire of the Dead occasionally.
Artifacts
Contagion Clasp and Contagion Engine: Drop counters and proliferate is the main goal of this deck. Proliferate powers up all my planeswalkers to ultimate quicker too.
Mycosynth Lattice: Mana fixing, powers Daretti, Ingenious Iconoclast and Tezzeret the Schemer, allows anything to be Tinkered.
Grimoire of the Dead: Counters can be proliferated until I get a zombie army of all the creatures I've killed with Contagion Engine.
Dimir Signet, Rakdos Signet, Izzet Signet, Sol Ring: Mana fixing and acceleration.
Great Furnace, Seat of the Synod, Vault of Whispers: More artifacts means more things for Goblin Welder and Tezzeret the Schemer to Tinker with.
