Sideboard

(Retired standard deck from INN/RTR)

I've been reading a lot of the daily dose lately and I actually had started tooling around with this bolas build right around the time KrazyCaley started posting about their bolas build in the daily dose of standard article most recently. Reading the daily dose article has been very entertaining as well as informative, I highly recommended you check it out if you haven't already.

This deck focuses on getting up to Unexpected Results and hopefully popping one of the game changing threats in the deck as early as possible, with a fully tuned set of dual lands, try to out race the opponent game one. use all the Dreadbore's Abrupt Decay and Putrefy to empty the field of threats. Which in turn fills my yard with spells and the opponents with creatures, giving my deathrites plentiful targets.

The sooner we get them to an empty board and zero cards in hand we can sit back and tear them apart with Bolas.

This is a Nicol Bolas, Planeswalker deck at heart, and as such He gets a well rounded total of 3x copies in the mainboard. One Griselbrand as an extra surprise hit for Unexpected Results to find.

here's the deck:

Deathrite Shaman an awesome one drop.

Vampire Nighthawk great card with plenty of value.

Olivia Voldaren

Griselbrand popping this guy via unexpected results is usually a scoop win.

Farseek ramp.

Abrupt Decay great removal against early game threats.

Dreadbore planeswalker removal, or just kill a creature, only downside is sorcery speed.

Putrefy an excellent card, it even takes care of game 2 pithing needles.

Unexpected Results will no doubt prove to be hilarious in this deck.

Ral Zarek works great along side Deathrite Shaman untapping him to get two uses out of his exile spell, losing the opponent 4 life each turn, and I'll always have plenty of my own kill spells in my yard for deathrite fuel. I expect Ral to be an extra source of ramp or removal depending on the sitch, then if he survives a source of extra turns I can use to get out bolas and ramp his loyalties up.

Vraska the Unseen She's control/win-con. She kills other planeswalkers and survives. She makes assassins.

Nicol Bolas, Planeswalker xD
