Sideboard

Maybeboard

A competitive Boros Aggro deck. This deck made 3rd place at a local FNM with a record of 3/1. The only problem I ran into was a blue devotion deck with hefty blockers that I could not bypass. Other than that I did pretty well against two black devotion decks and a golgari deck.

TURN ONE would usually be Rakdos Cackler over Legion Loyalist, as the loyalist has haste and can come out with a horrifying explosion of power. Boros Elite is viable only if there is nothing else and if you actually draw it in a one-in-sixty chance (It's only in there at the moment since I lack another Ash Zealot...).

TURN TWO will depend on the opponent's creature play: If they have something Ash Zealot an kill then play her, if they have a single creature that you need to avoid then go around it with Madcap Skills.

TURN THREE will probably be a Viashino Firstblade unless there are other better options. The best part about this guy is nobody expects him and he can be a bitch to deal with the turn he is played.

AFTER TURN THREE You will hopefully have mana to do Spark Trooper, and if not then you can always just keep hitting the shit out of your opponent with all of the other wonderful options at your disposal. Discarding a Scorchwalker after they don't declare blockers is always a fun and unexpected over 1/4th of their health gone.

SIDEBOARD in [Skullcrack]] if you know that your opponent will be using ANY AMOUNT OF LIFEGAIN! This is one of the stronger weaknesses of this deck. Wear / Tear works against things like Whip of Erebos that will ruin all hopes of you winning. Shock and Lightning Strike are good if your are playing against an opponent who uses gods or other big things that are hard to get around; you can just cast them straight at your opponent and hope for the best. This is a much riskier strategy as you have fewer creatures invested in and not as much constant damage being dealt (which is why they are not already in the main board. Legion's Initiative is in there because I opened one up and just kind of threw it in. I don't recall ever using it but I imagine it might actually be kind of okay if you expect a board wipe or something dangerous. I will most likely replace it with a Lightning Strike (seeing as I only have 13 cards in my sideboard apparently...).

My strategy at times was to run my opponent down enough to hit him with a [Boros Charm] and win the game. This is a worst-case scenario win condition.

The only thing I would change about this deck at the moment is running one more Ash zealot and taking out Boros Elite.

Feel free to comment and throw suggestions out there.

I once lived the dream of giving a Spark Trooper double strike. ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED?!?

Updates Add

So it's been a while since an update. I'm thinking I might run this deck at an FNM in Pensacola this Friday when I get off of school from spring break. I plan on heading around that area anyway and thought it would be nice since I haven't done any competitive play in a while. If I don't play with this deck then I will play with my other deck: Hero of Fabled Fleecemane Satyr

I am thinking about replacing Wear / Tear with Revoke Existence in my sideboard, since the mana cost is better and the effect is stronger. I will need to acquire some anyway for future decks anyway since I tend to run white in just about everything for its utility, and this card seems like a sideboard staple.
