Borzhov Allies

Standard*

afteralter

An aggro deck with Black, Red, and White allies triggering Rally and stuff.

Before anyone asks why I only have one Bloodstained Mire included is because I only own one of it.

Now onto the deck:

CREATURES

Drana, Liberator of Malakir is a powerhouse in this deck; she pumps up small creatures after dealing combat damage (if she is not blocked), which is after her First Strike damage. All other attacking creatures get +1/+1 counters, which makes even Expedition Envoy a threat in the first few turns.

Expedition Envoy is my one-drop for 2/1; also helps trigger rally and stuff.

Firemantle Mage gives Menace to my creatures making my attackers difficult to block.

Lantern Scout is great with the Lifelink it grants my creatures.

Makindi Patrol is a bit underrated, but he is awesome. Vigilance gives comfort when I attack during my combat step because I still can make my creatures block when my opponent's creature/s attack/s.

Reckless Bushwhacker may seem better on other decks like Atarka Red or RDW (or goblins), but he also shines here. His surge ability gives my creatures a +1/0 boost and he also triggers Rallies, which makes him a combo with Firemantle Mage , Lantern Scout , and Makindi Patrol

Weapons Trainer is a very good card, imo. A 3/2 body for 2 mana is good enough, and it gives +1/0 to other creatures when I have Captain's Claws in play.

PLANESWALKER

Gideon, Ally of Zendikar is one of the best additions to this deck. His +0 helps me defend or attack, and his +1 makes me more aggressive. I can give him +1, trigger my rallies with another creature, and make him attack, too. His ultimate can also boost my creatures with a permanent +1/+1.

ENCHANTMENTS

Stasis Snare exiles threats with an instant speed, that's why I like it better than Silkwrap , however its 1C2W cost is a bit of pain.

Oath of Gideon also works great in this deck by generating 2 Kor Ally tokens, and giving an additional loyalty counter to Gideon when he resolves, which gives me an option to immediately use his ultimate and still exist in the battlefield.

INSTANTS

Gideon's Reproach helps me be aggressive and defensive at the same time by killing most creatures that attacks or blocks. Immolating Glare or Celestial Flare seem nice, but I need some form of aggressiveness and pinpoint target from Reproach which where the latter two fail.

Ultimate Price is my answer to all mono-colored creatures. I'm thinking of putting Radiant Purge in my sideboard if ever I come across a deck with creatures with more than 1 color.

I forgot which cards I was able to place in SB, but they were less than 15. If I remember correctly, I placed Encircling Fissure , Ruinous Path, and Immolating Glare .

11 March 2016 - 1W-2L-0D

-1st round with Jeskai Black [0-2] --Jace flipwalker seemed too powerful here by bringing back spells with his -2 ability.

-2nd round with Naya tokens [1-2]

--Nissa, Voice of Zendikar was able to defend herself with Plant tokens, and my opponent pulled off a Secure the Wastes for 6 tokens. --In the match which I won, Gideon was always equipped with Captain's Claws and Firemantle Mage was on the field giving my attacking creatures Menace which made it difficult for my opponent to block.

-3rd round with U/R Prowess [2-1]

--Not much of a problem, except that I got my planeswalker Negate'd. Otherwise, I was able to destroy most of my opponent's attacking creatures with Gideon's Reproach. Stormchaser Mage seemed problematic even with Drana on field.

It's a fun deck, and I would play this one again on FNMs.
