Sideboard

Get your hooter, start bouncing, win.

The inspiration for this deck is twofold: initially, it came from a post on some other site about a player who won because he was land screwed. He was playing an Ebony Owl Netsuke build, and dropped it turn 1 with a Spirit Guide and the only land in his hand. He failed to draw another land, and therefore could not play anything other than the Owl. Apparently neither could his opponent, so his opponent took 4 damage per turn, and ended up scooping: he was playing a control build and had a hand full of counters! My other inspiration for this deck came from one of the top decks on this site for a while: Modern Turbo Owl.

The concept of the deck is pretty simple: control the game long enough for you to achieve a spell prevention soft-lock (with Eidolon of Rhetoric or slapping Silence on Isochron Scepter) and then drop the Owl. Your opponent won't believe that they lost for having the cards they needed in their hand. If things go south, just beat face with Batterskull or Celestial Colonnade.

If anyone takes offence to the name, or feels that it is inappropriate, don't hesitate to confront me in a mature manner.

Elaborate deck descriptions are not necessary for most decks, so I will not be providing a detailed explanation of the current list. If a card choice isn't self-explanatory or there is a card that more appropriately fills a roll, please bring it to my attention.

I welcome, and encourage, all suggestions, comments, and upvotes! Thanks for looking!
