Maybeboard

I've tried to keep the deck as cheap as I can, only using cards I have for modern decks and trading away other cards I wasn't using for new cards, which got me a lot of value. So while $500-$600 might not be a budget deck, I haven't really invested any money into it, which is what I was going for when trying to build it.

I've trimmed down on the number of combos in the deck, and decided to make it more resilient to hate, by adding in a number of counter spells and graveyard recursion, making it very hard to hate me out of the game.

With that in mind the cards I have in the deck are either there to delay the game long enough for to assemble the combo, find the combo, protect the combo or make it resilient to hate cards. I've also included enough removal and board wipes to make sure I don't just die to other creature decks.

Checkout the deck that this is based on for an idea of how the combos work in this deck and even more combos.

The main combo will be Nim Deathmantle and Ashnod's Altar//Krark-Clan Ironworks (when I mention Ashnod's Altar, you will always be able to use Krark-Clan Ironworks too). With Breya, Etherium Shaper and the two thopters she creates when she enters the battle field, you can net 6 mana, but sacc'ing all three to Ashnod's Altar, then triggering Nim Deathmantle and paying 4 out of the 6 to bring Breya, Etherium Shaper back from the graveyard, which then creates another 2 thopters from the ETB. Rinse and repeat for infinite colourless mana. You can then repeat the loop, but this time pay 2 mana with Breya, Etherium Shaper's abilities to ping a player for dmg and then sac'ing her again too and bringing her back with your infinite mana supply.

If you have Altar of the Brood out, the ETB from Breya, Etherium Shaper and her thopters will mill all your opponents, or if you have Purphoros, God of the Forge out, he'll ping everyone to death.

You can achieve the same combo above with Myr Battlesphere and Wurmcoil Engine (With the latter, you will need an extra 2 mana to trigger Nim Deathmantle, but once you have the tokens out, you should be good to go).

Another combo is with Breya, Etherium Shaper + 2 Blue thopers + Nim Deathmantle + Grand Architect. You can tap Breya, Etherium Shaper + 2 thopers for 6 mana using Grand Architect, use 2 to sac Breya, Etherium Shaper + 1 thopter to ping for dmg, use the 4 remaining to trigger Nim Deathmantle.

You can also use Eldrazi Displacer in place of Nim Deathmantle, do any of the combos with Ashnod's Altar, get to 4 mana and then use 3 of that to bounce Breya, Etherium Shaper/Myr Battlesphere, which will give you more tokens to sac on ETB. With breya you will be net positive 1 colourless mana, with Myr battlesphere will be the same if you only sac 2 tokens and then you'll have 2 left.

You can also gain infinite life with Ashnod's Altar/Krark-Clan Ironworks + Sword of the Meek + Thopter Foundry + 1 mana. Use Thopter Foundry to sac Sword of the Meek, which creates a 1/1 thopter, which instantly returns Sword of the Meek to the battlefield. You can then use Ashnod's Altar to sac the thopter to gain 2 mana, use 1 of that to use Thopter Foundry again. This will net you 1 mana each loop and one life. At some point you can stop using Ashnod's Altar and use the banked mana to use Thopter Foundry, which will start netting you 1 thopter on each loop, so you will get infinite thopters too.
