AAAWWW NOBODY WANTS TO PLAY WITH ME :(

Deck Operation:

Deathrite Shaman - Provides some defense against flashback cards, chews up spells that control decks would normally use Snapcaster Mage for and is a decent way to rid the opponents graveyard of flashback spells like Think Twice and Lingering Souls. He also is a chump blocker if I have to block early aggro match ups like Naya humans, and has an ability to either gain life to save my ass toward the end of a game or make my opponents lose life. I know it's wishful thinking to think I'll have him out but he's such a good offensive card early game. And honestly, if people blow their spells to kill him, that just means less for other more important creatures in the deck.

Desecration Demon - He brings the beats. He's the entire reason why the deck makes sure our opponents have no creatures. We don't want them to be able to tap this monstrous beast down but if they do... HEY! That's good anyway. He's a force to be reckoned with and scares a LOT of people. If they can't provide an answer to him, he's trouble.

Master of Cruelties - He's a nasty addition to this deck. We're all about making sure our opponents don't have blockers, so we aim to trigger the 1HP drop with him but if things aren't going our way, he's still an excellent First Strike, Deathtouch beast.

Vampire Nighthawk - I'm still on the fence as to whether I still need these guys in this deck. What helps is that they give health, and sometimes that can make or break a game. The deathtouch is also a great feature, obviously. Worst case scenario, he can block 3 damage and take whatever it is he's blocking down with him.

Huntmaster of the Fells   - Eh, he's just a good card to give health and generate creature advantage. Considering I can easily cast two spells in a turn or none during my turn, transforming is pretty common. Once I get my Olivia Voldaren x2 back from a buddy, I may put her in instead. But since I'm already killing creatures, I might not need to use her anymore. Huntmaster helps me survive.

Crypt Incursion - I play a one of in my deck mainboard. Two times so far, I've drawn it from the deck when I am neck and neck with my opponent with us both down to less than five health. I play one because it's only good LATER in the game, and holy hell when I do draw it turn 6-8, I gain enough life to make my opponent scoop.

Sideboard might need some work. Duress has been a great sideboard card against control decks. Its useful nearly ALL the time I get it, and since I play a lot of aggro decks that don't have many spells, I don't run it main board. I managed to pull a win off against super friends by duressing 2 from his hand and kill 2 with dreadbores and 1 from a demon swing. They helped a LOT.

Thoughts? :D

Weaknesses:

Superfriends. It's been one of the toughest matchups I've had recently with this deck. Garruk Relentless, Ral Zarak, Sorin... they all put out too many creatures to deal with my demons.

Control. It's tough, but manageable. All I have to do is be careful and wait out for the right time to land some bombs.

FNM - July 06, 2013 Ended 3-1-0

Round 1 - Played against a guy who has been out of magic since Alara. I kind of felt bad for him because his deck was dual colored but he lacked all the expensive dual lands which kind of screwed him up a bit. Played Green/Blue, evolve with Increasing Savagery and other counter generation to hit hard and heavy, but a lot of those +1/+1 counters were chewed up with Far / Away or other creature kill spells. The guy was smart, using Rapid Hybridization to dodge my kill spells or using it to nerf/kill my demon before I had a chance to swing with it. He managed to get me game two due to a poor decision to keep a bad hand on my part, but game three I didn't make the same mistake. Won 2-1.

Round 2 - Game 1, I defeated him on a turn five swing with master of cruelties and hit him with a pillar of flame. Only saw a Ral Zarak played..., so I figured it was super friends and sideboarded in some duresses. Game 2, he managed to keep me at bay with token generation with Garruk Relentless and Sorin. Then he managed to Ultimate Ral Zarak ult giving him 3 extra turns and managed to beat me down. Game three, I kept a hand with 1 duress and 2 dreadbores with an evolving wild and mountain. So I kept. Turn 1, duressed to get rid of a Ral. Then I dreadbored a garruk, a garruk, and a sorin. Sadly, since Dreadbore is a sorcery, he popped out tokens with garruk and emblembed with Sorin. My draws were mostly land and weren't enough to rid him of his tokens which eventually beat me down. Loss 1-2.

Round 3 - Played against a buddy of mine with a pretty fun deck. His deck revolves around Master Biomancers with Assemble the Legion. He obviously had other power cards, but I managed to beat him game 1 barely. He was able to field some beefy creatures that populate (Scion of Vitu Gazi and put out some birds. The master biomancers made them bigged upon entering, as well. Thankfully I was down to 3 and when he swung with a total of 4 damage, I was able to save myself for one more turn by doing my Deathrite Shamans green mana ability to gain two and survive at 1 health. I topped decked my singleton Crypt Incursion and played it, he scooped! Game two, had some poor draws and kept a bad hand, but he did outplay me a few times and I lost. Game 3, I decided to rakdos Return him for 3 on turn five (I was on the play and a land ahead) to force him to drop all 3 of the remaining cards in his hand because i figured an assemble the legion was coming out next because turn four he played his Biomancer. Thank GOD I did. He discarded 2 of them! After that, the game was in the bag. Next turn I played a second desecration demon and he couldn't keep up.

Round 4 - Played against a guy that I've not played against in my local store. He was pretty good and had a good deck. Played mostly red and white with some good power cards like Boros Reckoners and such. Game 1, I beat him with some tricky maneuvers. I had to hit my own deathrite shaman with a searing spear to trigger morbid on tragic slip to kill the reckoners without suffering damage back. Far / Away helped keep them on track as well. Managed to play an early pair of demons and he was done for. Game 2, I had him nearly killed but he played an aurellia and her double swing killed me. Game three, I held onto some Far / Aways and waited for the aurellia drops to return her at the end of the first mainphase to slow her down one turn which was all I needed for the win.
