Maybeboard

This deck is an attempt at something other than Esper or Grixis control.

THE DECKLIST

CONTROL:

End Hostilities - board wipe

Anger of the Gods - usually a board wipe or close enough and gets rid of whip targets or delve fuel.

Reprisal - sometimes a 2 for 1, most of the time upsets the opponent.

Duress - since we can't counter anything without blue, Duress takes care of any instants or sorceries that could cause havoc. It also lets us see our opponents hand in order to play around it.

Crackling Doom - I love this card. Burn for 2 AND ignores hexproof in the best way possible by taking the opponents biggest threat.

BURN:

Lightning Strike - standard onslaught

Magma Jet - takes care of the annoying aggro creatures and also sets up our next draw

Stoke the Flames - gives us the reach we need to finish the game

Palace Siege - this is the all-star of the deck. With a 4 point life change each turn this both save you from getting burned out AND puts the opponent closer towards the loss.

Mogis, God of Slaughter - similar to palace siege except it has a control aspect to it as well. Although it could backfire against Chasm Skulker (eeek!) nonetheless a pro more than a con.

FINISHERS:

Dragonlord Kolaghan - 6 point swing upon play. sure he is vulnerable to removal and counter unlike Pearl Lake Ancient or Silumgar, the Drifting Death but he hits hard and fast. His second ability also can make it tricky for aggro or midrange decks to get back in the game.

Kolaghan, the Storm's Fury - can protect himself by dashing back into your hand. Or can hardcast to give your other dragon's a little bit more of a boost.

Thunderbreak Regent - a dragon who protects his own. Seriously can create a win/lose scenario because of his ability.

UTILITY

Haunted Plate Mail - this is a gem of a card. Sometimes found in this decks big sister, Esper Control so that Silumgar, the Drifting Death can swing for more lethal damage but in here it can evade most removal and swing for damage when we are creatureless. Could be replaced with Myth Realized

Sarkhan's Triumph - an instant speed tutor for a dragon? Yes please!

SIDEBOARD TECH

Banishing Light - this card takes care of anything on the field we don't want to be there. It is also difficult to get rid of as few people run enchantment hate.

Chained to the Rocks - very cheap but only targets creatures and has a "need a Mountain " clause. But still, it is cheap!

Burn Away - I don't think you are going to be playing that T5 Treasure Cruise. Oh yah and what whip deck?

Fearsome Awakening - because our dragons don't have hexproof and because black, white and red do not know the meaning of Counterspell this gets our dragons back.

Mardu Charm - this is here for utility. Kill a creature, protect ourselves with chump blockers or get rid of a threat in our opponents hand.

Read the Bones - this deck struggles with tempo, which is to be expected by not running blue! This card helps with our tempo game giving us a little bit of dig capability.

Virulent Plague - what tokens?

Mob Rule - for the games against gruulrampintolargethings or even aggro games. A special card that can piss people right off.

Drown in Sorrow - this thing does work. Takes out most mana dorks, screws with thoughness of larger things and wrecks aggro. OH! And I'll take a scry 1 any day of the week.
