No elves, eldrazi, or other such silliness will be found in this deck. It's just green doing what green does best, ramping up to amazing and big creatures, on a budget. I made it as straight forward as possible: flood the field with threatening creatures that your opponent must deal with instead of dealing damage to you. Pretty simple, right?
I decided to use defenders for the sake of my early game and my wallet. Unlike many other mana dorks, mine can serve the useful purpose of blocking when they are not producing mana. Their higher defense helps safeguard them against direct damage and me against aggro.
Overgrown Battlement
and
Axebane Guardian
- These guys make the whole deck work. With two other play sets of defenders I have a massive amount of potential mana at my disposal.
Alpha Authority and Spidersilk Armor- These give my creatures some added staying power. Alpha Authority ensures a hopefully higher trample damage. Spidersilk Armor takes the sting out of flying.
Worldspine Wurm- Everyone loves seeing this guy land across the table from them. Slap some hexproof on him and start sliding the box of tissues to your opponent. He's got an enormous casting cost though, so I only put two in the deck.
Bellowing Tanglewurm
- This guy can win games. Period.
Protean Hydra
- He doesn't have trample, but I figured I would throw something fun in there to put all of your mana into late game.
Giant Adephage
- This guy is bonkers, especially with a little evasion. So glad I found out about this card.
