The primary idea behind this deck started on the question of "How do I build a Standard control deck that doesn't play Sphinx's Revelation or Supreme Verdict and still be strong against the metagame?" The answer is Grixis, and Cheap Grixis Control.

The deck starts with 4 Spellheart Chimera and 2-3 Duskmantle Seer. One of the big questions is "Why are you playing Duskmantle? You're giving your opponent a free Bob!" That may be true, but even historically, decks that played the original Bob (Dark Confidant) did it on their terms. This deck forces a Bob onto your opponent that they may not be ready for, where this deck focuses on cheaper removal and counterspells, getting value off of Duskmantle Seer. Spellheart, along with the cheap removal and counterspells are also very strong.
