Sideboard

Budget try on a Sultai Morph/Control deck. If you're like me you don't have a ton of cash to spend, but would like a fun/engaging deck to play with.

So, I love playing with Morphs and the goal of this deck is to scare your opponent to death with your morph cards while also leaning heavily on control elements. Right now this deck is sitting around $35 with the sideboard included. There are obvious ways to upgrade the deck with fetchlands and better removal, but that will raise the price quite a bit. The goal is to keep similar removal without the hefty price tag.

What makes this deck different from other morph decks? This deck relies heavily on control and playing mind games with your opponent. The emphasis of surprise deathtouch can really keep your opponents guessing.

Major win conditions - Cloudform into a Sagu Mauler to end up with a 6/6 flying hexproof. Add in a Ghostfire Blade which can equip to morphs for the low cost of 1 colorless and you have an 8/8 flying hexproof with the Mauler. At the very least you can pull off a 4/4 flying hexproof on turn 4 (with potential future benefit if you Cloudform a morph).

2ndary win condition is stalling the board out with control/death touch till you can lay out a huge Villainous Wealth for the win.

Meat & Potatoes of the deck -

Ruthless Ripper is a highly undervalued card in my opinion and when your opponent thinks it is safe to swing in or block the little ole morph, then you flip it to get high value trade. Or you can just play it on board to force opponents removal or stall them a bit. Heir of the Wilds also adds a nice 2 drop with deathtouch.

Icefeather Aven is a great 2/2 flier for 2 by itself, but it's ability to un-morph and bounce creatures can really disrupt your opponents play.

Hooded Hydra and Sagu Mauler are beefcakes with great value and synergize great with Cloudform and the morph theme.

Trail of Mystery can be downright brutal against your opponent if you get it out and rolling. The land additions help keep your tempo up and the +2/+2 on morph flips really creates fantastic offensive & defensive advantages.

The side board has other removal options with a few creatures as well. If you have an opponent who tries to go wide and swing past your morphs then Drown in Sorrow, Singing Bell Strike, and Silumgar, the Drifting Death can really help shut them down.

As always, thoughts, constructive critique & comments are always welcome!
