The deck is built around a strong U/G creature base which is centered around prophet to provide all your combat tricks. The monstrosity on creatures adds extra value and helps the deck curve-out late game against big-beaters. The black is for removal and support, and for late-game graveyard fun like whip and deadbridge chant.

The sideboard runs golgari charms for aggro weenies, enchantment destruction (D-Spheres anyone?), and resilience to board wipes. Bramble crushes are a cover-all for enemy whips, enchantments, land bottle-necks, but mostly planeswalkers. Duress is also for control matchups, hoping to target revelations, planeswalkers, or verdicts. Fade into antiquity is for those pesky gods.
