Hello, thanks for taking a look at this list! Inspiration behind this deck is I’ve always been a fan of the anti-meta/prison mentality. Playing Orzhov means the list doesn’t have access to Blood Moon , but I hate Blood Moon anyway so I wanted to play something else.

The Gameplan

  1. Early game: take advantage of cheap removal/hand disruption to slow down your opponent until you draw your "Prison Package" Chalice of the Void + Ensnaring Bridge + Rest in Peace

  2. Mid game: shift into Prison mode. MB Rest in Peace and Chalice of the Void are blow-our cards against the strongest decks in the meta right now, and Ensnaring Bridge shuts down cards like Crackling Drake, Thing in the Ice, Primeval Titan, and Death’s Shadow once you run out of removal. It also stops your opponent from running you over by stacking lords. Bitterblossom and Timely Reinforcements also drastically improve your ability to turn your early removal into opportunities to go aggressive.

  3. Late Game/Wincons

Planeswalkers. Kaya, Orzhov Usurper + Rest in Peace provides a lot of options and a win through her ultimate since you’re going to be exiling basically every card your opponent plays. Liliana of the Veil is also extremely punishing.

Tokens. Once Bitterblossom + Sorin, Solemn Visitor hits the field, you’re swinging in with 2/2 lifelinking faeries. His ultimate isn’t entirely useless since you still remove permanents from the game and its free removal every turn.

Sideboard This deck can very easily shift gears from control to midrange since playing in Orzhov gives you such versatility of where you can attack.

  1. Playing against control? Speed up your clock with Intangible Virtue and punish those iffy keeps/fragile mana bases with Smallpox , then blast those Teferi’s with an Oblivion Ring .

  2. Death’s Shadow and Arclight Phoenix type decks won’t stand up to your MB removal/hate, let alone adding another Chalice of the Void for 1.

  3. Amulet Titan and Counters Company also fall short to MB disruption, and Smallpox gives you a solid 2-for-1 on their bounce lands and mana dorks early game. Same goes for Tron with their early game Eldrazi or Walking Ballistas.
