Another Warrior deck trying to live the dream.
The deck is fairly inexpensive and from shuffling around with it it seems pretty quick. I have a strong focus prepped for Theros rotation however I couldn't ignore the power of scry lands when making this deck. Also it is somewhat budget built so it's not running insanely powerful cards.
Main focus, get the warriors out and swing. Mardu Woe-Reaper seemed like a better choice than Mardu Shadowspear. Also the Woe-Reaper can help provide some support against decks like Rally who use the yard. Other than that it is pretty straight forward. The warriors pretty much assist each other,
Blood-Chin Rager
makes creatures pseudo unblockable,
Chief of the Edge
gives everyone a buff and you swing. I have Raiders' Spoils for some very important and much needed card draw as well as that extra power buff on an enchantment. Brave the Sands Helps me keep my defense up while being able to swing as well as making my defense even better. That extra block with a 1/1 Warrior token could kelp save a game.
Despise
is the main answer for creatures and walkers I have in here and Duress helps get rid of all the other goodies.
As for the sideboard there's a few other things going on. Gilt-Leaf Winnower is an answer for Rino and Tasigur on a stick. A nice Warrior stick with menace which is always nice.Dragon Hunter is a three of to replace the Woe-Reapers when facing a dragon filled deck.
Foul-Tongue Invocation
makes my opponent sac. Woo.Minister of Pain is my answer to opponents tokens, in particular goblins and aggro strategies. Sign in Blood Draw.
Radiant Purge
Exiles those multicolors who are a problem instead of Ultimate Price.Touch of Moonglove Now I know this card isn't exactly the greatest. However, most swings will take 2 creatures to block and against a deck where an opponent has a ton of creatures to chomp block with you can still get value out of a swing as well as take out anyone who survives the attack. Also with Brave the Sands out I can double block myself and take out two creatures and also get value by hitting them for four from a block.
This decks built more for aggro, however my maybe board has sort of a Warrior Rally idea. I know liliana heretic healer is probably better for this deck than Sorin, however shes a little out of my range at the moment. However, by adding in Merciless Executioner and
Rally the Ancestors
I could see some decent power coming out of it. Rallying for 3 CMC alone gives me most of my creatures back however I just don't see it working out as well.
Suggestions, feedback, anything would be greatly appreciated.
