the idea of the deck is to search the library for a three card finisher: Laboratory Maniac to set the win condition and Selective Memory & Mana Severance to empty the deck in a single round. Fathom Trawl can take the place of Selective Memory , costing 1 more but instantly adds the "when you draw a card from an empty library" part, thus eliminating the need to wait for upkeep or have a surviving Merfolk Looter .The Personal Tutor & Drift of Phantoms are there to summon the three components and the rest is just defense and rapid mana gathering in order to execute the trap. it takes 9 mana and an active Merfolk Looter or 10 mana without the Looter, to execute in 1 round.
