Although I miss the convenience of white in superfriends: Oath of Teferi, Tamiyo, Field Researcher, Moat, Call the Gatewatch, Merciless Eviction, and Supreme Verdict are the key cards that get lost in favor of color consistency.

What is, however, gained by putting Yidris, Maelstrom Wielder at the helm is that theatrical-tier feeling of cascading from one walker into another, or cascading form a 6 CMC walker right into Doubling Season. My criteria for a walker deck is that I want to run Jaces, Tamiyos (my actual favorite), Chandras, and Bolases. Because red, blue, and green are required colors for me, so my walker deck options are limited, and especially notable is that Atraxa, Praetors' Voice is not on the table.

In terms of sheer power, this is actually below average for this commander, but it's never been more fun for me than in this build.

Even though this deck doesn't fit the definition of Cruel Control strictly, it definitely plays like it.

Much of this deck functions on snowballing synergies, but those synergies become combos because they tend to loop.
