WORK IN PROGRESS

Yidris is a jack of all trades and I was super frustrated by how difficult it was to choose a direction and stick with it. Then I realised that I can do loops of any free spell I put in. Enter the Inevitable Betrayal.

Gameplan is as follows:

  1. Get Yidris out and let him punch someone in the face to trigger his cascade ability
  2. Cast two 1CMC spells and find both Profane Tutor and Inevitable Betrayal
  3. Use Profane tutor to find Reito Lantern or Reito Sentinel (or perhaps the Isochron Scepter if you already have Turn the Earth or Noxious Revival in hand))
  4. Use Inevitable Betrayal to pull the biggest baddest thing from an opponent's library straight under your control
  5. Play and use the Lantern/Sentinel/Scepter to put Betrayal back into your library
  6. Congratulations, now every 1CMC cascade will have a bonus Betrayal on it

Is this good you ask? Absolutely not. This is jank pure and simple.
Should that discourage me? Oh hell no - it is still more fun to play (and play against) this than building a storm Yidris that everyone and their mom put together from EDHREC.

The rest of the 99 mostly plays some supporting function in the deck. Either the cards enable Yidris to connect better, protect him, draw into more 1CMC spells or manage the board.
Should there be more counterspells? Absolutely. Should there be more tutors? Definitely...BUT then there wouldn't be space for my pet cards would it? (see stuff like Shadowmage Infiltrator and Thief of Sanity).

If all else fails, you can always rely on one of my favourite card combos (to be released): Saw in Half + Dualcaster Mage
