A mono blue illusion tribal deck. I usually play MTG with friends without any format.
This is how it works: Lord of the Unreal gives us the hexproof we need to counter our illusions' bad triggered ability. Usually having an attacking 3/3 with hexproof in the second turn is quite easy with Lord of the Unreal
+
Phantasmal Bear
.
Adaptive automation
is a great "Lord", since it will get hexproof from the actual Lord of the Unreal.
Phantasmal Image should be used as a copy of Lord of the Unreal, so you can get a "Lord of the Unreal" with hexproof. This way, again, our copying illusions' bad ability couldn't be able to be triggered.
Krovikan Mist
and
Illusionary Servant
fill pretty good in our mana curve. You can play a
Krovikan Mist
early turns and easily be a 3/3 flyer or wait for late game and take advantage of all the copies from our Chronozoa to make a big body.
Illusionary Servant
will help us when we don't have any other 3 drop (which we only have another 4xAdaptive Automaton) and if played just after Lord of the Unreal would be a turn 3 4/5 hexproof flyer..!
Phantasmal Dragon
can be played in the 4th turn and easily be a 6/6 flaying beast. This would be our ideal finisher.
I have added
Illusory Angel
to the maybeboard because it doesn't convince me 100%. I see how powerfull can it be, being a 3CMC 4/4 flyer, which probably will be boosted with our Lords, but considering that we need to play another spell before it and that our mana curve has that many 2CMC spells, we normally will play the
Illusory Angel
in the 5th turn, so it will attack in the 6th, probably as a 5/5 or 6/6. Well, that is cool, but as I have said above, with the
Phantasmal Dragon
we can have a really easy 4th turn 6/6 body, so that's why I haven't included the
Illusory Angel
on my main 60 cards. Do you think the Angel still has a chance of being there? Tell me your opinion here please! :D
Since we are playing casual, I decided to use Counterspell, the best counter for a budget deck like this.
About Muddle the Mixture, we usually will be using it as a tutor to get our Lord of the Unreal if we aren't lucky enough to get a copy in our opening hand or early turns. It can be used for countering as well, so it's a great card.
Brainstorm: well, what to say about it. Self explanatory use.
We can use Vapor Snag either to use it on our foe's creatures (delaying them or killing tokens) or on our own, since we can save one of our Lord of the Unreal if threatened, because they don't have the problem of needing to be sacrified if targeted as our other creatures.
Talking about lands, I didn't know what to use in order to keep it budget, so I thought that Halimar Depths could give me a little of scrying in case of not having a 1 drop the first turn.
If you are able to get some Cavern of Souls go for them, they are nuts on a tribal deck, but just a copy of it nearly overprices the full deck, so...
You can perfectly add some Mutavault too, since they will be benefited with all the Lords' boost and help
Krovikan Mist
grow too.
Any suggestion are welcome!!
Hope you guys like it!
