I'd love a critique on the deck so that I can improve it. If possible I'd like to keep it within the same budget mostly. What do you think is not worth running, and what should really be in the deck. Description of likes and dislikes below.

EDH Chainer deck. Black is my favorite color in Magic. I always lean towards generals that have access to that color. Recently I've been brewing decks that are mono-black to try them out before purchasing the cards on paper. Decks I've tried - Gonti, Lord of Luxury and Horobi, Death's Wail. I liked those but I think I've finally found my soul-commander - Chainer, Dementia Master.

Things I like in the deck:

  • Grave Pact effects. I just like to be able to actively kill opponents' boards when I'm doing my sacrifice shenanigans.
  • The number of lands. I always seem to run around 36-37 lands even in multicolored decks (except Gitrog, which has 42). I never thought I'd enjoy having so many lands in a deck. It just feels more consistent and I don't get mana-screwed with it mostly.
  • The ramp cards. Solemn Simulacrum, Burnished Hart, Wayfarer's Bauble, Expedition Map and all of the mana rocks I like a lot. The deck can be quite mana hungry so having all these options and being able to ramp quickly is key to the success of the deck in my opinion.
  • Mirage Mirror. This card is insane! I really like the option to copy the best thing on the board for a given situation. Somebody plops Aura Shards, well would you look at that - I have Aura Shards now and can blow your pesky stuff.

Things I don't like:

  • It feels to be playing kinda samey. Ramp, control board, get to a point where you can lock the opponents, win with some ETB effects or giant Exsanguinate or just good old attacks. I love the puzzle aspect of the deck, but it's not melting my brain enough. :D
  • Some cards just don't perform as I was expecting them. Ashnod's Altar was underwhelming I think. I mean it's very nice to have redundancy in sac outlets, but it seems I was never using the mana it produced. Obviously Phyrexian Altar is miles better, but it's out of my budget currently. Also not sure I like Shriekmaw that much, but so far it's been good.

Things I'd like for the deck:

  • More complex cards that break the linearity explained above. I know it's an exaggeration saying it's linear as reanimating at instant speed from all graveyards and managing resources is quite the task. Maybe I just want some more combo/synergy cards in the deck. My Gitrog Monster deck feels more in line with what I want. It's very complex in that it has so many decisions and variables during each of my turns. I want more of that if possible for Chainer.
  • Maybe another wincon. Now it has couple of reanimation combos that drain the opponents and Exsanguinate. Another one is Revel in Riches but that's just occasional luck win. Maybe these wincons are enough, I just like to see some more options.

Hope this description is thorough enough. I'd love for people to comment and give me suggestions! :)
