This is a budget Polymorph based combo deck. The goal is to Polymorph a Khalni Garden 0/1 token for one of our various big hitters such as Worldspine Wurm (Hence the deck name). A simple goal right? However, this deck comes with a backup plan.
Dramatic Entrance
offers another way to cheat in our big hitters, and is simply an alternative combo to our original plan. It's skips the foreplay, and gets right into business!
MOVING PARTS
The deck contains multiple ways to dig through itself. Obvious pieces such as Serum Visions and not so obvious pieces like
Contingency Plan
. These are in the deck as redundant ways to search for your combo pieces. If you don't have it in your opening hand, you better hope you can find it right? Sylvan Scrying is a piece meant to find Khalni Garden specifically.
RAMP
The deck also has a tad bit of ramp. Nothing exciting, just four copies of Fertile Ground and
Search for Tomorrow
. These are meant to accelerate our combo, and simply provide some breathing room when we need to do multiple things in a turn.
DEFENSE
This deck is somewhat light on defensive pieces. Three copies of Dispel are in the deck as a way to make sure nothing funny happens during our turn, when we decide to Polymorph. Vapor Snag is just a cute way to keep our opponent slowed down slightly, while we continue to look for our combo. Other than that, our defensive plan is pretty simple: cast Polymorph with Dispel as back up.
BIG HITTERS
Our big hitters consist of Worldspine Wurm, Elderscale Wurm, and Ghoultree. Worldspine Wurm is for a large, resilient creature and is the primary creature of choice, just because of resilience and power. Elderscale Wurm is used in the case that we're overrun by enemies. And finally, Ghoultree, this card is simply a nice huge body, that is decent if we hit it with our Polymorph. Remember, the deck is random. There are very few cases in which you can control which big hitter you receive. One of those cases is with
Dramatic Entrance
.
That's all folks! Really. It's a fairly simple combo deck, that doesn't require much effort to assemble. That being said, it's vulnerable to a lot of different interaction. But don't let that sway you! All combo decks are fairly vulnerable to interaction, it's just part of the game. Upvotes and feedback are greatly appreciated!
